Dr. Robert McKersie is a family physician who has worked on the South and West Side of Chicago for the better part of a decade. He travels regularly to Nepal where he sees patients and teaches physical diagnostic skills to Nepalese healthcare providers. He recently moved to Boxford, Massachusetts where he lives with his wife Michele and two children, Robbie and Mia.

Dr. Robert McKersie works at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He practices the full gamut of family medicine and specializes in obstetrics in inner city Lawrence, Massachusetts as well as internationally.

The challenges in providing effective medical care to the underserved in Nepal and the United States as described in Dr. McKersie’s book are immense. Tax deductible contributions can be made to any of the following non-profit organizations that are playing a very active role in this regard: Himalayan HealthCare, Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, and Physicians for a National Health Program.
